While Apple Inc. has not come out and officially said when it will release the iPhone 5, current Apple board members and former vice president of the United States Al Gore has made an announcement the next iPhone iteration will arrive in October, putting us one step closer to the iPhone 5 release date.
Al Gore took the stage yesterday in South Africa at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit in Johannesburg and while discussing current growth and trends in technology and computing he let it slip, “Not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month. That was a plug.” This statement was captured by Toby Shapshak, editor of Stuff Magazine for South Africa who was in attendance at the leadership summit.
The comment was even recorded on an Toby’s iPhone and was reported by TheNextWeb. This is an interesting announcement because Gore’s comment was definitely…
An exciting snippet of iPhone 5 news comes through as we learn that the production of Apple’s latest and greatest A6 and A7 processors will be produced by TSMC according to a Taiwanese source DigiTimes as Apple continues to put space between itself and Samsung Electronics.
“TSMC is believed to have quietly secured Apple’s contract, and even succeeded in extending the deal to cover the manufacture for the A6′s successor,” the report mentioned.
Until recently, Apple had a relationship with Samsung to produce the previous generation of processors used in the iPhone 4 and iPad 2 products co-developing the processor technology with the Korean company. Since then, a series of legal disagreements have strained the relationship between to the two tech giants and has forced Apple to turn to other suppliers for component fabrication.
A foundry agreement has been signed to make the relationship official between…

The leader of modern innovation steps down from the throne before the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPad 3 hit the marketplace.
Steve Jobs has resigned his position as CEO of Apple, Inc. leaving a legacy like no other technological leader ever has.
In true Apple form, not much detail was given regarding his decision to step down as Chief Executive Officer. Virtually everyone would agree that the move is directly related to his worsening health. The iPhone 5 community wishes Jobs good health and happy retirement as he moves forward remaining as a Chairman of the Board.
Quoted directly from the Apple Board Of Directors, here is a response from Art Levinson:
“ Steve’s extraordinary vision and leadership saved Apple and guided it to its position as the world’s most innovative and valuable technology company…made countless contributions to Apple’s success, and he has attracted and inspired Apple’s immensely…
An interesting possibility has presented itself for the iPhone 5. Rumours abound for the highly anticipated 2011 iPhone 5, not many of which are truly an exciting deal breaker for most iPhone enthusiasts. Take for example some of the reported iPhone 5 features such as the 8 megapixel camera, voice recognition, and the bigger screen. All of this and more can be found all over the Android market and as such, a tone of discontent rings loudly throughout the enormous community of iPhone users who are concerned their iPhone 5 just won’t live up to the riveting expectations and innovation that Apple has delivered over the years.
That being said, one newly discussed feature is making it’s rounds across the iPhone rumour community. Today we’ve heard about the possible inclusion of an actual projector built right into the iPhone. Sure, we’ve heard of some Android phone makes dabble in…
According to Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty, Apples fabricating cooperators will begin putting together an upcoming generation of iPhone handsets in August, ahead of the imaged launch late in the third calendar quarter, which ends September 30.
After going to meetings with unidentified sources in Taiwan, Huberty released an email to her clients telling that Apples next iPhone will begin production in mid-to-late August and incline sharply, suggesting that the iPhone 4S (or possibly iPhone 5, as the handset is yet unnamed) will be well prepared to ship for September launch date. Huberty corroborated this timeline, saying that according to her informants the handset will launch to consumers sometime near the conclusion of the third calendar quarter of the year.
Rumors have twiddled for months around the release date for the next iPhone, and most have steered to the handset getting out the door sometime in September. As a…
The rumor today is that Apple is preparing to release a bigger and better iPhone 4 in September.
The report from Bloomberg makes mention that this new ultra-powered iPhone 4 could feature some powerful hardware. Expect a dual-core A5 processor and an 8 megapixel camera on the rear. To put this in perspective – this is the same processor driving the iPad 2.
Apple has had a past of integrating technology like this into its new releases. Think back to the A4 processor and the original iPhone 4 and remember that the A4 was launched in the original iPad. The word on the street is that regardless of what phone release we see next, it is guaranteed to include the upgraded processor.
The rear camera on the other hand is a more wishful rumor and any change at all at this point is mostly speculation. The performance of the current…
